Dark Elven Resources

Here is a collection of some of the most frequently used sites among Dark Elf players in NERO, culled from various forums and mailing lists in addition to personal experience.

Language and Translation

NERO has it's own Dark Elven language known as Kuraianki, which is loosely based on modified/simplified Japanese, though many players choose to learn and/or use Japanese in its entirety. Kanji is also often used, and referred to as "Ancient Vornae" in the written form. Various Dark Elven cultures may recommend other languages, as well, as their “regional” dialect. While you do not need to feel obligated to learn any additional language in order to play a Dark Elf, some plot teams choose to make use of it in certain aspects of their plotlines and it can add greatly to the flavor and roleplaying envornment.

Costuming

While it is certainly not required, many Dark Elf players choose to dress in a Japanese or Asian style (either authentic or simply inspired by). This can range anywhere from formal kimonos and other such clothing to basic martial arts attire which will stand up well to the rigors of play.
